I have some exciting news I want to share with you! Barb over at http://barbsgoodlife.blogspot.com is doing a beautiful giveaway for the ONE year anniversary of her blog! Please check it out! It is a beautiful rooster casserole dish and a set of side dishes. The colors are amazing. Of course I have entered and I hope to win, but I would be equally as happy if one of you wins too! Today is the last day to enter and tomorrow is the drawing! Good Luck!
My husband and I are in the process of remodeling both of our girls’ rooms. The guest bedroom will become my two year olds new room and the nursery will be inherited by my seven month old. While this happens, we are making slight changes throughout the rest of the house too. For example, I bought a valance at the Goodwill for .99 cents last week for my kitchen window. One of my many thrift store finds! The kitchen was renovated two years ago and still has no curtain. I will post a photo when it is hung up. For now, I will leave you with a few photos of vintage inspired valances from Country Living.com
How many of you listed being organized in 2010 as one of your resolutions for the New Year? Well, I have listed a few vintage trays in my Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/shabbychic72) that are also magnetic and make wonderful memo boards to keep all those important little pieces of paper we have everywhere.
Aren’t they cute?
As an American, I am sure I am not alone as I sit in the comfort of my home with heat, water, electricity and food, wondering “What can I do to help the earthquake victims?”. I think back to September 11th and all of the outpouring of sympathy and donations that were made. Once again, I think many Americans have opened their hearts and their wallets to this latest devastation.
I would like to share with you what I have been doing. On Etsy.com, many Etsy sellers have opened a shop called Help For Haiti. All of the items in the shop have been donated by Etsy sellers and 100% of the profits will go to Doctor Without Borders. I purchased these cute little push pins last night from the shop:
I will be also be donating 10% of my profits from my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/shabbychic72 to Doctors Without Borders.
It is just my small part to Help Haiti.
Do you love the thrill of the hunt for new treasures at your local thrift shops, yard sales and flea markets as much as I do? I thought so. The last few trips I have made, I have found some lovely vintage silverware. Spoons, forks, butter knives and a cake server. I think these look a little Shabby chic, what do you think? Having these little treasures in my home just makes everything more special. And don’t we all deserve to feel special EVERY day? I would like to share some that I have found recently and have added to my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/shabbychic72. I hope you enjoy looking at these pretty little treasures as much as I do!
I found these lovely teacups this week while out thrift shop hunting for my Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/shabbychic72). I think they are so adorable and sweet. What do you think? I hope someone buys them to give them a new home. Tea for two, anyone?
As we remember what would be the King of rock ‘n roll’s 75th birthday, I thought Iwould post a few photos of Elvis and Priscilla wearing classic vintage :
