Vintage Inspired Curtains

My husband and I are in the process of remodeling both of our girls’ rooms. The guest bedroom will become my two year olds new room and the nursery will be inherited by my seven month old. While this happens, we are making slight changes throughout the rest of the house too. For example, I bought a valance at the Goodwill for .99 cents last week for my kitchen window. One of my many thrift store finds! The kitchen was renovated two years ago and still has no curtain. I will post a photo when it is hung up. My Small Part To Help Haiti

As an American, I am sure I am not alone as I sit in the comfort of my home with heat, water, electricity and food, wondering “What can I do to help the earthquake victims?”. I think back to September 11th and all of the outpouring of sympathy and donations that were made. Once again, I think many Americans have opened their hearts and their wallets to this latest devastation.

I would like to share with you what I have been doing. On Etsy.com, many Etsy sellers have opened a shop called Help For Haiti. All of the items in the shop have been donated by Etsy sellers and 100% of the profits will go to Doctor Without Borders. I purchased these cute little push pins last night from the shop:

It is just my small part to Help Haiti.

Do you love the thrill of the hunt for new treasures at your local thrift shops, yard sales and flea markets as much as I do? I thought so. The last few trips I have made, I have found some lovely vintage silverware. Spoons, forks, butter knives and a cake server. I think these look a little Shabby chic, what do you think? Having these little treasures in my home just makes everything more special. And don’t we all deserve to feel special EVERY day?
